The pilot’s path

Four hops from empty field to full burrow

The deck is forgiving when you remember one rule: Cadira is the multiplier, not the starting point. Make something small before you cast her.

  1. 01

    Seed the meadow

Use Carrot Cake, Emmara, Hop to It, or another cheap maker. One to three tokens is enough to make Cadira’s first hit matter.

  2. 02

    Invite Cadira

Cast her once you can present a route or hold protection. Swiftfoot Boots and Canopy Cover do both jobs efficiently.

  3. 03

    Find the softest path

Attack the player least able to block. Cadira has trample, so a single point of player damage unlocks the whole trigger.

  4. 04

    Shelter, then swing wide

Keep Rootborn Defenses or Unbreakable Formation ready, add one anthem, and finish through clear, face-up combat.

Interaction toolkit

Seven answers, one friendly wipe, six shelters

The deck can participate without abandoning its theme. Most answers are broad, visible, and easy to explain at the table.

7

Spot removal

Path to Exile, Swords to Plowshares, Generous Gift, Aura Mutation, Conclave Tribunal, Sundering Growth, and Season of the Burrow.

Use narrow answers first; save Generous Gift for a permanent the other cards cannot touch.
1

Board wipe

Hour of Reckoning has convoke and destroys nontoken creatures, usually making it the friendliest reset for your Rabbit board.

Your anthem creatures are nontokens too. Count what you are giving up before casting it.
6

Protection pieces

Canopy Cover, Shield of the Oversoul, and Swiftfoot Boots shelter Cadira. Dauntless Escort, Rootborn Defenses, and Unbreakable Formation can save the wider army.

Indestructible does not stop exile, sacrifice, bounce, or −X/−X effects.

Pilot’s pocket guide

Four burrow truths worth keeping visible

The most important pilot rules deserve to stay close to the decklist: short reminders for the decisions that matter every game.

01

One seed is enough.

You do not need a wide board before Cadira. One or two disposable tokens already make the first connection worthwhile and leave fewer cards exposed to a wipe.

02

Count before attackers.

Name the defending player, count your starting tokens, check trample blockers, and announce each Cadira trigger. With double strike, finish the first trigger before normal damage.

03

Protection has edges.

Indestructible beats destroy effects and damage. It does not stop exile, bounce, sacrifice, or toughness reduction, so identify the kind of answer before spending protection.

04

Keep one rebuild card.

A token maker, draw engine, or landfall payoff in hand is insurance. Make opponents solve the meadow twice instead of placing every Rabbit plan onto one battlefield.

Answers for the table questions this deck invites

Open a trail when an interaction gets fuzzy.

Why does double strike multiply so quickly?

Cadira deals first-strike damage, then her trigger resolves and creates Rabbits before normal combat damage. Her second trigger therefore counts the larger token herd. With Primal Vigor, each of those batches is doubled.

Can fresh tokens make mana with Jaheira?

Usually not immediately. Jaheira gives creature tokens a tap ability, and a creature that has not been under your control since your turn began cannot activate an ability containing the tap symbol unless it has haste.

How do Queen Allenal and Primal Vigor combine?

Both are replacement effects. As the affected player, you choose their order. Apply Queen Allenal first so she adds a Soldier to the event, then let Primal Vigor double the entire modified token event.

What survives Hour of Reckoning?

It destroys nontoken creatures. Your creature tokens survive, but Cadira, anthem creatures, and other nontoken engines do not. You may tap creatures to convoke it before the spell resolves.

Deck anatomy

A steady curve with room for woodland theatrics

The 61 nonland cards average 3.00 mana value. 39 lands keep the beginner pilot from missing too many early steps.

Colored commitments

Green starts the chores; white gathers the herd

This counts colored mana symbols printed in spell costs, not land production. Green is especially important early because Nature’s Lore, Avacyn’s Pilgrim, and other setup pieces turn it into the rest of the game plan.

Token basket

Prepare the meadow for a Rabbit avalanche

A practical table tray uses 13 Rabbit tokens plus Soldiers, an Elephant, and Warren Warleader’s offspring. Reuse tokens, dice, empty sleeves, or 3D prints when Cadira makes more Rabbits than the tray can hold.
