The pilot’s path

Four hops from fast start to finished table

The deck is focused when you remember one rule: Cadira is the multiplier, not the starting point. Make a token first, then spend your mana on a safe connection and a decisive close.

  1. 01

    Accelerate and seed

Use a one-mana accelerator, Carrot Cake, Hop to It, or another efficient maker. One to three tokens is enough to make Cadira’s first hit matter.

  2. 02

    Invite Cadira safely

Cast her once you can present a route or hold protection. Brotherhood Regalia is the cleanest route; Trailblazer’s Boots and Canopy Cover add redundancy.

  3. 03

    Snowball the engine

Attack the player least able to block, then land one doubler or draw engine. Cadira’s trample needs only one point of player damage to start the herd.

  4. 04

    Protect, then finish

Use free or flexible protection to keep the meadow intact, then convert it into a win with Akroma’s Will, Craterhoof Behemoth, or a visible anthem.

Bracket 3 power package

Exactly three Game Changers, each with one clear job

The proposal spends its three Game Changer slots on interaction, acceleration, and protection. They strengthen the Rabbit engine without adding tutors or a hidden combo finish.

01

Aura Shards

Every creature entering under your control can remove an artifact or enchantment. A Cadira batch turns one combat into a stack of optional answers.

Food and Treasure are tokens, but they are not creatures and do not trigger Aura Shards.
02

Smothering Tithe

Unpaid draws become Treasures that accelerate the deck. Any Treasures you keep also count toward Cadira’s next Rabbit trigger.

Use the mana when it matters; keeping every Treasure solely for Cadira math can cost tempo.
03

Teferi’s Protection

Phasing protects Cadira, the Rabbit army, and your other permanents through most interaction while your life total is protected too.

This is strongest when it preserves a winning battlefield, not merely one value permanent.

Pilot’s pocket guide

Four burrow truths worth keeping visible

The most important pilot rules deserve to stay close to the decklist: short reminders for the decisions that matter every game.

01

One seed is enough.

You do not need a wide board before Cadira. One or two disposable tokens already make the first connection worthwhile and leave fewer cards exposed to a wipe.

02

Count before attackers.

Name the defending player, count every starting token, check trample blockers, and announce the number of doublers. With Duelist’s Heritage, finish the first-strike trigger before regular combat damage.

03

Match the shield to the answer.

Indestructible beats destroy effects and damage; phasing also handles exile and toughness reduction. Identify the interaction before choosing Heroic Intervention, Clever Concealment, or Teferi’s Protection.

04

Turn the corner.

Once the meadow is large enough, stop adding engines. Use Akroma’s Will, Craterhoof, Beastmaster Ascension, or Rabbit Response to finish before the table finds another reset.

Answers for the table questions this deck invites

Open a trail when an interaction gets fuzzy.

How do token doublers and double strike combine?

Each persistent doubler is a replacement effect, so one doubles a Rabbit batch, two multiply it by four, and three by eight. Double strike instead gives Cadira two damage events: resolve the first trigger completely, then the second trigger counts the newly enlarged token board.

Can fresh tokens make mana with Jaheira?

Usually not immediately. Jaheira gives creature tokens a tap ability, and a creature that has not been under your control since your turn began cannot activate an ability containing the tap symbol unless it has haste.

Does Aura Shards trigger once or once per Rabbit?

Once for each creature that enters. If Cadira creates eight Rabbits, Aura Shards triggers eight times. Each trigger may target an artifact or enchantment, and you may decline to destroy it when that trigger resolves.

What survives Hour of Reckoning?

It destroys nontoken creatures. Your creature tokens survive, but Cadira, anthem creatures, and other nontoken engines do not. You may tap creatures to convoke it before the spell resolves.

Deck anatomy

A lower curve with room for woodland theatrics

The 65 nonland cards average 2.74 mana value. 35 lands and nine early ramp sources trade surplus footing for speed and action.

Colored commitments

Green starts the chores; white gathers the herd

This counts colored mana symbols printed in spell costs, not land production. Green is especially important early because Nature’s Lore, Avacyn’s Pilgrim, and other setup pieces turn it into the rest of the game plan.

Token basket

Prepare the meadow for a Rabbit avalanche

A practical table tray uses 13 Rabbit tokens plus lifelink Soldiers and Warren Warleader’s offspring. Keep dice or empty sleeves ready for Food, Plant, Treasure, temporary Warriors, political Rabbits, and giant doubled batches.
