Rainbow lands, land ramp, Gemhide Sliver, and Manaweft Sliver assemble WUBRG so The First Sliver can begin the cascade chain.
THE FIRST SLIVER · BRACKET 3 CONFIGURATION
Thirty-three Sliver organisms share protection, card flow, and combat traits across a five-color hive. Develop the board, answer the threat that matters, and preserve enough resources to adapt again.
ORGANISM PROFILE
The Hive combines 38 lands, reliable five-color development, independent draw, and interactive Slivers. It aims for combat finishes from turn seven onward without an intentional deterministic combo package; that timing is a design target awaiting playtesting.
Rainbow lands, land ramp, Gemhide Sliver, and Manaweft Sliver assemble WUBRG so The First Sliver can begin the cascade chain.
Haste, evasion, protection, vigilance, lifelink, and attack pressure spread across the battlefield instead of living on one fragile threat.
Six reset-or-protection slots cover two opposing-board resets and four ways to shield your own board. Hibernation Sliver and graveyard recovery add different escape routes.
Sliver Legion, Bonescythe Sliver, Thrumming Hivepool, Akroma's Will, and evasion convert a developed hive into decisive combat. Synapse Sliver and Syphon Sliver reward attacks with cards and life.
The 2.97 average nonland mana value peaks at two mana. Thirty-eight lands support five-color development; later Sliver casts can chain into cheaper spells after the commander resolves.
Green starts land ramp and blue supports draw and responses. Fetchable duals and shocklands also pay for noncreature interaction; creature-only mana cannot cover every spell.
EXACT CONFIGURATION EXCHANGE
Move directly from The Hive to The Apex Hive. This guide is derived from both complete lists, so returning cards and unchanged cards are handled without chained packages.
LIVE FIELD EXERCISES
These tools use the exact 100-card Bracket 3 configuration. Test a cascade threshold, inspect a sample opening seven, then choose the battlefield problem the hive needs to solve.
Choose the Sliver you are casting. The scanner maps every legal lower-mana hit still expected in the library and can run a sample reveal.
Deal a real seven-card sample from this list. The readout checks land density, visible green and color access, setup pieces, and early organisms.
A teaching heuristic, not an automatic mulligan decision. Play/draw, matchup, and known interaction still matter.
HIVE PROTOCOL
Select a situation for a sequencing directive and the exact cards that execute it. Any card chip opens that organism in the full deck browser.
The First Sliver’s own cascade resolves while the commander is still on the stack. A Sliver found there does not receive another cascade from its battlefield ability. After the commander resolves, later Sliver spells can chain; casting a revealed card is optional.
Dormant Sliver grants defender. Hibernation Sliver can return it for two life without targeting, even through Crystalline shroud. Necrotic Sliver can sacrifice Dormant only when a legal permanent target exists. Crystalline also stops Plaza of Heroes from targeting your Slivers.
Thorncaster Sliver gives each attacking Sliver its own damage trigger. With Venom Sliver active, that damage has deathtouch and can clear creatures before blockers. Taunting Sliver redirects opposing attacks but does not disable creature abilities, and goad offers less safety with only one opponent left.
Synapse Sliver triggers for each Sliver that deals combat damage to a player; double strike can produce triggers in both damage steps. Syphon Sliver adds lifelink. Return of the Wildspeaker can draw from your largest non-Human at resolution or boost the hive; removal can shrink the draw.
COMPLETE ORGANISM
Three Game Changers—Aura Shards, Cyclonic Rift, and Rhystic Study—support interactive combat. Turn-seven-or-later finishes are an untested target, not a guarantee of bracket fit.
Fix green first, preserve an answer for the relevant threat, and keep an independent draw or recovery route when committing the hive.
This field guide is scoped to the complete Bracket 3 configuration and its public card metadata.
