Pocket reserve dial

Know what disappears if Omnath does.

This counter is a table aid, not a mana calculator. Track only currently unspent green mana. With Omnath present, the reserve persists across steps and phases and also increases his power and toughness.

Unspent green

0

Omnath is 1/1

If Omnath leaves, spend the green before the current step or phase ends whenever a legal outlet is available.

Pilot ledger

Deposit early. Defend the vault. Withdraw once.

Field note

Open the account below three mana

Keep three lands with an untapped green source and cheap development, or two lands with at least two one- or two-mana accelerators. Multipliers and expensive draw are not an opening plan. A turn-two Omnath is strongest when the hand also protects him or can convert his growing power into cards.

Cards: Arbor Elf · Llanowar Elves · Nature's Lore · Utopia Sprawl

Field note

Pass with green still in the vault

Omnath preserves unspent green mana across steps and phases, and that reserve becomes his power. Develop first, then leave mana unspent when a bigger body, open protection, or an opponent-turn effect matters more than another spell. Colorless mana is not part of this bank.

Cards: Omnath, Locus of Mana · Seedborn Muse · Wilderness Reclamation

Field note

Protect the reserve before multiplying it

Greaves and Boots stop targeted removal before the bank grows; Heroic Intervention and Tamiyo's Safekeeping answer sweepers or removal later. If Omnath is leaving the battlefield, use the stored mana before the current step or phase ends—Tyvar's Stand, Momentous Fall, and instant-speed sinks can turn a failed defense into value.

Cards: Lightning Greaves · Heroic Intervention · Tamiyo's Safekeeping · Momentous Fall

Field note

Choose pressure, cards, or a public countdown

A clear attack often needs only Rancor, Shadowspear, Rogue's Passage, or Tyvar's Stand. If combat is blocked, convert power into cards with Hunter's Insight, Greater Good, Momentous Fall, Return of the Wildspeaker, or Rishkar's Expertise. Helix Pinnacle advertises a slower alternate win and gives the table time to react.

Cards: Rogue's Passage · Hunter's Insight · Greater Good · Helix Pinnacle

Field note

Count each untap as a separate dividend

Seedborn Muse and Wilderness Reclamation create repeated deposit windows; Bear Umbra, Nature's Will, and Sword of Feast and Famine reward a safe connection. Decide before combat which mana must remain for protection and which can become damage, cards, or a large spell. Do not expose every multiplier into an obvious wipe.

Cards: Seedborn Muse · Bear Umbra · Nature's Will · Sword of Feast and Famine

Field note

Cash out without drawing the game

Finale of Devastation, Genesis Wave, and Last March of the Ents turn a deep reserve into a board finish. Hurricane and Squall Line can close at instant speed, but count every life total before choosing X: the deck has no automatic protection from its own global damage.

Cards: Finale of Devastation · Genesis Wave · Last March of the Ents · Squall Line

Field note

Bane of Progress resets your machinery too

Mono-green answers permanent types through Beast Within, Song of the Dryads, fights, and artifact or enchantment removal. Bane of Progress is the true emergency reset, but it also destroys your auras, equipment, Doubling Cube, and The Great Henge. Spend or sacrifice useful pieces first when the board allows it.

Cards: Bane of Progress · Beast Within · Song of the Dryads · Doubling Cube

Field note

Station Evendo with a body you can spare

Evendo enters tapped and needs twelve Station counters before its powered mana ability turns on. A large Omnath can complete that threshold at sorcery speed, but stationing taps the creature and gives up an attack. Make that exchange only when the extra green production matters more than immediate commander damage.

Cards: Evendo, Waking Haven · Omnath, Locus of Mana
