Topographic route

Every descent prepares the next rise.

The contours follow the deck's real cycle: survey, seed the graveyard, reload, convert, disclose the loops, and use the reset that preserves the next tide.

Contour 01

Survey the opening

Look for three or four lands, two believable green sources, and early development or card access. Six lands without action can still be a mulligan. The list has 46 dedicated lands, 47 land-capable cards including Disciple, and 17 basics. Ancient Tomb pays generic costs; it cannot meet green requirements. Two-land hands need a credible plan to find the next land.

Cards: Delighted Halfling · Exploration · Nature's Lore · Sol Ring · Three Visits · Ancient Tomb · Forest · Snow-Covered Forest · Malevolent Rumble

Contour 02

Seed the graveyard

Crack fetches and use sacrifice lands during development. Malevolent Rumble selects a permanent from four cards, puts the rest into the graveyard, and leaves a Spawn for one-shot mana. Springbloom Druid sacrifices a land as its enter trigger resolves, not as a casting cost. Before Lumra, aim for at least two useful lands in the graveyard; four milled cards can contain no lands.

Cards: Fabled Passage · Harrow · Springbloom Druid · Lotus Field · Zuran Orb · Malevolent Rumble

Contour 03

Call the return tide

Lumra returns every land tapped. Spelunking makes them enter untapped instead. Amulet of Vigor and Tiller Engine trigger for each land that actually enters tapped; Spelunking prevents those triggers. Traveling Chocobo doubles eligible triggers caused by lands entering, including the untap triggers. Resolve untaps individually to use mana between them when multiple triggers apply.

Cards: Amulet of Vigor · Tiller Engine · Lumra, Bellow of the Woods · Spelunking · Traveling Chocobo

Contour 04

Read the bear

Cast Lumra on turns four or five only when it reloads resources, protects a follow-up through size, or turns on a draw spell. Sanctum can return Lumra to hand only while it is still on the battlefield, so use it before any sacrifice. If Greater Good sacrifices Lumra and it moves to the command zone, Command Beacon can put it in hand for a later recast.

Cards: Command Beacon · Greater Good · Lumra, Bellow of the Woods · Sanctum of Eternity

Contour 05

Keep finding action

Traveling Chocobo lets you play lands and cast Bird spells from the library top; it grants no extra land plays. It also doubles Cobra, Provisioner and other eligible land-entry triggers. Nissa makes mana on each landfall resolution and reveals cards until an Elf or Elemental only on its second resolution that turn. Eight other cards are possible hits, so this is conditional access rather than unrestricted draw. Preserve Return of the Wildspeaker for immediate refill.

Cards: Traveling Chocobo · Nissa, Resurgent Animist · Lotus Cobra · Tireless Provisioner · Return of the Wildspeaker

Contour 06

Recover the map

Life from the Loam returns lands to hand for extra land plays, channel abilities, or Six retrace costs. Dredge only when graveyard setup is worth replacing a fresh draw. Six retraces nonland permanents during your turn; it does not grant graveyard land plays. Eternal Witness recovers any card, including a milled Finale or Scapeshift.

Cards: Life from the Loam · Six · Icetill Explorer · Eternal Witness · Finale of Devastation · Scapeshift

Contour 07

Raise a landmark

Scapeshift with Field, Titania, or Avenger builds the army; the developed land base funds Finale or Craterhoof. Finale with X at least 10 gives the whole board haste. Craterhoof only has haste itself, so fresh tokens normally need a turn cycle. Lumra can close with evasion or trample once able to attack.

Cards: Avenger of Zendikar · Craterhoof Behemoth · Field of the Dead · Finale of Devastation · Rogue's Passage · Scapeshift · Titania, Protector of Argoth

Contour 08

Name the loop

With delirium, Shifting Woodland can copy Aftermath Analyst in the graveyard, sacrifice itself through that ability, and return as a land. A free land-sacrifice outlet, untap support and enough mana to repeat both activations can turn this into a loop. Disclose it. The B3 target is a satisfying ending from turn seven onward; repeatedly assembling early wins calls for changing the engine or bracket, not simply waiting to use it.

Cards: Aftermath Analyst · Amulet of Vigor · Shifting Woodland · Traveling Chocobo · Zuran Orb

Contour 09

Cut only when needed

Use cheap removal to clear graveyard or enter-trigger hate before committing Lumra. All Is Dust, Bane and Blast Zone reset different axes: Dust also sacrifices your colored permanents but leaves ordinary lands and colorless support. Song suppresses most abilities without removing the permanent. Hold graveyard hate for a live window. Strip Mine and kicked Mycospawn answer problem lands; repeated land denial conflicts with this deck's intended games.

Cards: All Is Dust · Bane of Progress · Blast Zone · Krosan Grip · Nature's Claim · Song of the Dryads · Endurance · Scavenger Grounds · Sowing Mycospawn · Strip Mine
