Choir of Ruin — Kaalia of the Vast Bracket 4

Kaalia of the Vast · planned First Strike v3

One declared attack.
An entire sky answers.

Build the first protected swing, multiply Kaalia's trigger, then choose an Angel, Demon, or Dragon whose impact begins before the table can recover.

The first strike is everything

Build the attack before you cast the commander.

Kaalia is not a four-mana value engine. She is a public ultimatum. The deck spends its early turns making the first declaration count.

01

Develop all three colors

Keep hands that cast white, black, and red on schedule. A two-mana rock is the clean bridge; colorless speed alone does not cast Kaalia.

Arcane Signet · Talismans · Mana Vault
02

Install haste or cover

Greaves, Boots, Dragon Tempest, and Hall are the launch routes. Silence, Grand Abolisher, free protection, and Reconnaissance keep the attack real.

Do the setup before revealing the threat.
03

Choose immediate text

ETB, static, unblocked, and combat-damage abilities work on the cheat combat. Printed attack triggers wait until that creature is declared later.

Master · Broodlord · Avacyn · Balefire
04

Escalate the next combat

Isshin, Delney, and Roaming Throne add triggers. Bloodthirster, Aurelia, Seize, Sword, and Helm turn one opening into a war.

Reconnaissance is the hinge.

How loud is the choir?

Every multiplier says “an additional time.” They add; they do not keep doubling each other. Count only Kaalias that were actually declared as attackers.

The Sword caution

Sword of Feast and Famine makes the equipped Kaalia 4/4, so Delney no longer applies to her. Equip another attacker when Delney matters.

Additional-trigger engines already in play
1Kaalia deployment trigger from this attack

Myriad copies enter attacking and do not count here. Helm copies exist before attackers are declared and do.

Three showcase sequences

From first blood to endless war.

Select a line for the exact order. Every named card is inspectable.

Opening seven

Keep the runway, not the dream.

2–4 lands

All three colors must appear on schedule. Hall or Ancient Tomb is support, not a complete color plan.

One early accelerator

A rock makes turn-three Kaalia possible and makes a second commander cast less punishing.

One launch piece

Haste or protection is more important than a second giant creature.

One payload or route

A Kaalia hit, tutor, or Faithless Looting is enough. Ship hands with three stranded monsters.

Three complete passes

Nine cuts made the first attack sharper.

The spectacle stayed. Random and delayed payoffs became haste, cards, protection, certainty, and a myriad engine that remembers.

Pass I20 hits · 3.80 MV

Maximum spectacle; myriad was partly decorative and clean answers were thin.

Pass II19 hits · 3.78 MV

The Master made persistent Kaalia tokens real; the first attack still needed support.

Pass III · selected18 hits · 3.58 MV

Four haste routes, early cards, stronger protection, immediate tutors, and the same brutal ceiling.

Pregame disclosure

Maximal Bracket 4.
Commander combat, not cEDH intent.

This list openly plays premium tutors, free protection, eleven Game Changers, Master of Cruelties, and two deterministic combat finishes.

Present

Mana Vault · Sol Ring · Ancient Tomb · Jeska's Will · premium tutors · reanimation · free protection

Deliberately absent

Moxen · Grim Monolith · Lion's Eye Diamond · Lotus Petal · dedicated ritual suite · mass land denial · tournament stax

“My primary plan is still to attack with Kaalia and cheat giant Angels, Demons, and Dragons.”
